Mission and Goals

● Coordinate and promote interdisciplinary research and development at NAU and Northern Arizona in the broad areas of bioscience, biotechnology and bioengineering.

● Foster education and curriculum development throughout Arizona in the biosciences.

● Promote workforce development in the many fields of bioscience.

● Promote economic development in biosciences through partnerships with AZ technology enterprises, Northern Arizona Technology and Business Incubator, Greater Flagstaff Economic Council, and Northern Arizona Biopartners.

● Foster partnerships and interface with other Arizona industrial and educational bioscience units.

 

The Strategic Alliance for Bioscience Research and Education (SABRE) is a consortium of of NAU faculty and staff, Northern Arizona business, government, and entrepreneurs engaged in interdisciplinary research and education in the broad areas of bioscience, biotechnology and bioengineering.  These endeavors are largely focused on leveraging bioscience research and education into workforce and economic development in Northern Arizona.

Proposals submitted for funding consideration must contain specific goals related to economic or workforce development in the broad areas of bioscience, biotechnology or bioengineering.
